Aston Villa fans are all saying the same thing about Arsenal after Liverpool defeat

Premier League title-chasers Liverpool beat Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium on Wednesday night and Aston Villa supporters are all making the same point.

The result comes as a huge boost to Jurgen Klopp's hopes of winning a second Premier League title with the Reds, as they inflicted a first defeat on Arsenal in six league games after coming into the clash with five consecutive victories. In fact, Mikel Arteta's side had kept three clean sheets in that time as they jumped into the Champions League positions in recent weeks.

But the Gunners were dealt a blow against Liverpool in the second half when goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale failed to stop Diogo Jota's powerful strike, as their hard work in the first half was undone. In the 54th minute, the Portuguese managed to beat Ramsdale at his near post from a tight angle.

"That has got to be saved,' Manchester United legend Gary Neville said on Sky Sports. "Ramsdale has taken a lot of the praise in the last few weeks but that was really poor goalkeeping."

And Villa fans were quick to bring up Arsenal's decision to sell former 'keeper Emi Martinez back in 2020 for just £16million, a fee nearly twice as much as the Gunners paid Sheffield United for Ramsdale in the summer, who has enjoyed a brilliant first season at the Emirates.
