Chelsea ownership crisis opens door to four inventive solutions to kickstart exciting new era

As much as sponsorships on kits have been a bone of contention personally in recent times, they can also provide the finishing touch to a brilliant design. The Fly Emirates logo on my favourite Chelsea home kit during the famous 2004/05 season brings wonderful childhood memories flooding back to me instantly. Even the O2 logo on the Arsenal kit during a similar period brings a sense of nostalgia, invoking visions of Thierry Henry with his famous gloves.

For a certain generation of Chelsea supporters, of which I am a part, the Samsung logo font on the front of Adidas kits between 2006-2015 will always be regarded as a golden era in the club's history. Following the UK Government sanctions on Roman Abramovich last week, a number of Chelsea's main sponsors have stepped away from the club. Most notably in that phone company Three, the main sponsor that appears on the front of Chelsea's kit has suspended their partnership, asking for their logo to be taken off the current kits.

Whether that partnership restarts once Chelsea are under new ownership is impossible to guess at this point but the potential of them fully stepping away would leave a hole for someone new to fill the void. So with that in mind, and with the aim of having some fun, here are four potential sponsors that could become just as iconic as the Blues aim to enter an exciting new era.
