Chelsea now 'interested' in signing £154k-a-week duo at Stamford Bridge
Chelsea are interested in luring Inter Milan duo Milan Skriniar and Denzel Dumfries to Stamford Bridge before the transfer window slams shut, according to CBS reporter Ben Jacobs.
The Blues are under new ownership after a Todd Boehly-led consortium completed a £4.25billion takeover in May, but head coach Thomas Tuchel is still being backed in the transfer market.
Chelsea appear to have missed out on adding Sevilla defender Jules Kounde to their squad as, according to Fabrizio Romano, the Frenchman is on his way to Barcelona.
It is understood that the Blues have now turned their attentions towards signing Dumfries after their latest frustration in the transfer market.
Inter are reportedly willing to sell the Netherlands international right-back, who earns £64,000-per-week at the San Siro, if a bid worth £33.5million is tabled.
According to Italian media outlet Calciomercato, Chelsea have held discussions with agent Paolo Busardo ahead of a potential move for Dumfries’ team-mate Skriniar.
The report suggests Paris Saint-Germain are also interested in the 54-cap Slovakia international centre-half, but they are not willing to match Inter’s £58.6million valuation.
Jacobs understands that Skriniar, whose £90,000-per-week Inter contract expires in less than 12 months’ time, and Dumfries are firmly on Chelsea’s radar.
The journalist feels the Blues could pounce for Skriniar as PSG have fallen short of his current employers’ demands, while Dumfries may also secure a switch to Stamford Bridge.
