Prospective new Chelsea owner Todd Boehly has been prematurely welcomed to the club by one of the club's sponsors.

Hotel and accomodation search engine Trivago, which are the Stamford Bridge outfit's training shirt sponsor, posted a message on social media welcoming the American billionaire to Chelsea – despite the fact that their takeover is yet to be finalised. But there's a simple explanation for the message, which appeared on social media on Tuesday.

It comes as the Premier League is set to give its approval for the takeover led by Boehly to go through. And Ben Chilwell has had an emotional return to training after six months battling back from a horror anterior cruciate ligament injury.
