Property tycoon Nick Candy has aimed a dig at one of his rival bidders as he hopes to purchase Chelsea from Roman Abramovich.

Chelsea owner Abramovich put the club up for sale following Russia's invasion of Ukraine. He has now been sanctioned by the UK government, plunging the club into a state of crisis.

The sanctions mean the Blues must operate on a reduced budget and are unable to buy or sell players, negotiate new contracts or sell any merchandise. And Candy has now explained why he will not be teaming up to form a super consortium with one of his rival bidders for the club.
