Chelsea have 'spoken about' major behind-scenes appointment at Stamford Bridge

Chelsea could approach Michael Edwards for a sporting director role at the club after his departure from Liverpool this summer, according to Dean Jones.

The news comes following Todd Boehly’s acquisition of Chelsea, after Roman Abramovich had put the club up for sale in March this year.

The former Liverpool man was responsible for some of the best bits of business that the club took part in across his time in the role, including securing £146m
