Matheus Nunes is the latest name to be linked with Chelsea - after failing to agree a move to Wolves.

The highly-rated Sporting Lisbon midfielder is valued at £43m and Portuguese newspaper Abola says Chelsea have no problem paying that.

It is even suggested he could seal a move by the end of the week with Sporting keen to use the money on other targets.

Chelsea can't afford to lose any more defenders without replacing them, but face a few issues keeping hold of Marcos Alonso. The Spain full back is aware the club have listened to offers for him in more than one transfer window.

And now, it's claimed by Spanish outlet Mundo Deportivo he may even be willing to hand in a formal transfer request to force a move to Barcelona.
