It did not take long for Reece James to become a Chelsea treasure. He was practically destined to become a Chelsea great from the second he returned from Wigan on loan. As it stands, he is a Champions League and Club World Cup winner for his boyhood club and has made a name for himself as one of the best right-backs in the game right now. It's no wonder that clubs like Real Madrid and Manchester City are keeping an eye on the 24-year-old.
As his contract is not set to run out up until 2025, the question is, why does Chelsea need to rush on renewing his terms? He earns around £70,000 per week which for an integral player, is not so attractive.
