Chelsea: £30m star could 'knock on Tuchel's door' for Stamford Bridge exit

Chelsea striker Armando Broja could ask to leave in January if he doesn’t get chances under Thomas Tuchel, according to transfer insider Dean Jones.

The Albania international was linked away from Stamford Bridge the entire summer, but ended up staying in west London and signed a new six-year contract on Friday evening.

Broja might have ended up staying at Chelsea, but ultimately, it proved a transfer window of uncertainty for the frontman.

Having performed so well on loan at Southampton last season, he attracted interest from the likes of West Ham, who were said to be launching a £30m bid, Newcastle and Everton.

But Tuchel continuously said that he wants to keep Broja, which ended up proving to be the case despite the deadline day signing of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, whose arrival is likely to reduce his chances.

Kai Havertz, who’s been Tuchel’s first choice frontman during the early weeks of the season, is also above Broja in the pecking order, which makes his case to get regular game-time quite difficult.

He told GIVEMESPORT: “That additional forward has not arrived on top of Aubameyang so the knock-on of that is that Broja stays with Chelsea.

“Let’s see how many chances he gets between now and the season going on pause in November because if Tuchel does not give Broja games then he will knock on his door and ask to leave. He really wants to succeed in this league and quickly.”

Despite Havertz’s slow start to the campaign, which has seen him fail to score in Chelsea’s opening five games, Broja has still hardly had a look in.

He did miss the defeat to Leeds last month through injury, but he’s played a combined total of just 39 minutes in the Blues’ other four fixtures.

He did make a positive impact off the bench
