Chelle to meet Osimhen, Simon, others in Europe
Super Eagles coach, Eric Chelle, is set to embark on a crucial European tour next week to connect with senior members of the national team.
This trip comes shortly after his unveiling by the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) in Abuja on Monday.
Before heading to Europe this weekend, Chelle will observe the home-based Super Eagles squad preparing for the upcoming 2024 African Nations Championship (CHAN).
This initial interaction will allow him to assess the local talent and begin integrating his vision for the team.
According to reports, Chelle’s European itinerary includes key meetings with several prominent Super Eagles players. His first stop will be in France, where he will visit Nantes winger, Moses Simon. He will then travel to Turkey to meet with star striker Victor Osimhen.
Further visits to top players based in England and Germany are also planned, though specific names have yet to be released. These face-to-face meetings will be crucial for Chelle to establish relationships with his key players and discuss his plans for the national team.
The 47-year-old coach is expected to return to Nigeria by the end of the month after completing his European tour.
Upon his return, Chelle will join the Home Eagles squad at CHAN 2024, where he will take on a supervisory role, further assessing the team’s progress and performance.
This involvement will provide valuable insight into the team’s dynamics and help him prepare for future challenges.
