Cheapest one-bed flats to rent in Manchester as city is named one of UK’s most expensive for solo tenants

With the cost of living on the rise, affecting everything from household bills to food and fuel prices, rent is no exception. In recent months the cost of renting in major UK cities and towns has increased by 8.3 percent, with the average price per month now £969, according to Zoopla.

As people begin to flock back to the city centre post-pandemic, rent prices are being pushed up by heightened demand and a lack of rented accommodation available. The rising costs to rent are also forcing many tenants to stay put, further limiting the amount of rental homes available.

Whilst looking at the average rent, salary and expenses for flats in the 30 largest UK cities, Protectivity has revealed the most and least affordable locations for solo tenants in the UK.
