Chatham Town manager Kevin Hake looks ahead to Isthmian Premier derby with Folkestone Invicta after Ben Allen scored from near the halfway line against Aveley
Two unbeaten sides go head-to-head in an Isthmian Premier Bank Holiday derby on Monday.
Chatham Town host Folkestone Invicta at Maidstone Road with both sides showing plenty of early promise during the first weeks of the campaign.
Chatham sit second in the table with 10 points from four games, collecting a third successive victory at Aveley on Saturday - the 2-0 win featuring an amazing goal from near the halfway line by Ben Allen.
Folkestone have eight points and defeated St Albans in their only ‘home’ game of the season so far to date at the weekend.
Chatham manager/chairman Kevin Hake said: “It was a great win away at Aveley on Saturday.
“The lads showed great character, kept believing, and got their rewards with two late goals.
“Ben Allen’s strike was a wonder goal and young Stanley Oldfield came off the bench to finish it off.
“It really was a team performance, with everyone playing their part.
“Now we turn straight to Bank Holiday Monday back at home against Folkestone.
“These quick turnarounds are never easy, but we’ll be ready to go again.
“We will look to keep this run going and make it another special afternoon to what promises to be a packed Bauvill.”
