Charles Schwab Challenge Halfway Hut: Scottie Scheffler shares lead after second-round 65

Scottie Scheffler had to sit and watch from the sidelines as the 104th PGA Championship played out last weekend.

Texas native Scheffler is in familiar position again after firing a bogey-free 5-under 65 on Friday to tie for the halfway lead on 9-under with fellow Americans Beau Hossler and Scott Stallings.

The home theme continues a little further down with local resident Jordan Spieth four shots back on 5-under.

For the 69 players who made the cut - including Collin Morikawa on the number at 1-over - winds are expected to pick up this weekend after calm conditions on day two.

By crashing out, Thomas ended the longest active streak of cuts on the PGA Tour at 21. Jon Rahm (11) now leads that category.
