Channel 4 SAS Who Dares Wins: Where is Ant Middleton and why's he been replaced?

SAS: Who Dares Wins is back and the Directing Staff are putting twenty new recruits through their paces to see if they have what it takes to pass the Special Air Services screening process, testing their mental, emotional and physical strength.

Jason 'Foxy' Fox and Mark ‘Billy’ Billingham are returning for the Channel 4 show seventh series which begins on Sunday night (April 10) and 9pm but there is a familiar face missing - former Chief Instructor Ant Middleton. The former British soldier had been part of the popular series since it began back in 2015.

However, he was dropped by Channel 4 last year over different 'views and values' which included commentary on social media about Covid and Black Lives Matters protests.

A Channel 4 spokesperson said in a statement at the time: "Ant Middleton will not be taking part in future series of SAS: Who Dares Wins. Following a number of discussions Channel 4 and Minnow Films have had with him in relation to his personal conduct it has become clear that our views and values are not aligned and we will not be working with him again."

Despite the news being announced in March 2021, Ant did go on to take part in two further series, one with civilians and one with celebrities which aired last year, as they were already filmed prior to the decision being made by the broadcaster.

Ant shared on social media following Channel 4's announcement; "After 5 incredible years I’ve decided it’s time to move on from SAS Who Dares Wins UK. Big respect to my fellow DS – it’s been a journey I’ll never forget. Thanks to everyone that took part and made the show what it is. Really excited about the future
