Channel 4 Gogglebox stars Pete and Sophie reduced to tears as they react to Ukraine invasion

Gogglebox siblings Pete and Sophie Sandiford were reduced to tears during Friday night's episode.

The pair were discussing the plight of Ukrainian families forced apart by the war.

Imagining how they would react in a similar situation, the Blackpool brother and sister could be seen fighting back the emotion.

Following the Russian invasion women and children have been permitted to flee Ukraine, but men under the age of 60 have been banned from leaving the country and urged to join the army.

After Pete said he didn't know what he'd do on that situation, Sophie said it was 'choking me up even thinking about that, cos I would just stay with you'.

Pete replied: "No you wouldn't, because I wouldn't let you."

Then as Sophie, began to weep, Pete added: "Stop you k*******, cos you're going to make me cry.

"We're here you f****** idiot."

To which she replied: "I know but it's just scary."

The Channel 4 reality show, which sees a number of families or groups of friends across the UK watch and commentate on the various shows seen on TV that week, returned for its 19th series last month.
