Republic of Ireland striker Adam Idah scored twice for Norwich but saw his side suffer a 6-2 thrashing at the hands of Plymouth Argyle in the Sky Bet Championship.

The Cork native's second-half brace, which takes him up to four goals for the season, proved no more than a consolation for a Canaries side that found themselves trailing 4-0 at half-time.

Plymouth forward Morgan Whittaker scored his first Championship hat-trick, while Dan Scarr, Finn Azaz and Luke Cundle also netted for the hosts at Home Park.

Liam Lindsay equalised just before half-time from Ireland international Robbie Brady's whipped delivery.

Goals from Harry Clarke, Nathan Broadhead and George Hirst put Town in control in the first half after Arnor Sigurdsson equalised before an own goal from Clarke and the Ireland-eligible Sammie Szmodics made it 3-3.

Middlesbrough moved off the foot of the table as they came from behind to beat Southampton 2-1.
