Champions League draw LIVE as Celtic and Rangers find out who they’ll face in the group stage

It's been 15 long years but the waiting is finally over. Scottish football once again has two teams at the top table of European football.

For Celtic, they've known for quite some time that they would be in the draw for the Champions League group stage courtesy of last season's Scottish Premiership title win.

Much of the good coefficient work was done by rivals Rangers in recent years with their progress in the Europa League which culminated in them reaching last season's final.

And it wouldn't have sat well if they had been forced to watch their rivals benefit from all that good work while they missed out. But Giovanni van Bronckhorst and his Ibrox heroes made sure that wouldn't be the case after coming through two qualifying rounds to ensure they would join the men from Glasgow’s East End.

It's a huge boost for Scottish football to have our two biggest clubs in the Champions League group stage with everyone benefiting financially in some way thanks to UEFA's solidarity payments.

But could Celtic and Rangers go further and progress from the group stage? Much of that will depend on who they are pulled out alongside when the draw takes place in Istanbul.
