Champions Kerry handed 15 All-Star nominations

All-Ireland champions Kerry have received a massive 15 TG4 All-Star nominations following August's stunning Brendan Martin Cup success.

The Kingdom were far too strong for Galway at Croke Park as they ended a 31-year wait for the title.

On Sunday, joint-managers Declan Quill and Darragh Long decided to go out on a high as they stepped away.

The Tribe have been rewarded with nine nominations for their run to the final while Armagh, who claimed a first Division 1 title earlier in the season, have eight players in the final 45.

Dublin have five players nominated, Cork have four, while players from Meath, Kildare, Tipperary and Waterford have also been included in the list compiled by the Ladies Gaelic Football Association's All-Star committee.

The 2024 list also includes six players who received All-Stars in 2023 – Kerry trio Eilís Lynch, Niamh Carmody and Louise Ní Mhuircheartaigh, and Dublin’s Leah Caffrey, Jennifer Dunne and Carla Rowe.

Along with Lynch, Carmody and Ní Mhuircheartaigh, Kerry also have goalkeeper Ciara Butler, winner of the 2024 ZuCar golden glove award, defenders Ciara Murphy, Kayleigh Cronin, Aishling O’Connell, Aoife Dillane and Deirdre Kearney, midfielders Anna Galvin and Mary O’Connell, and forwards Niamh Ní Chonchúir, Síofra O’Shea, Danielle O’Leary and Emma Dineen nominated.

Galway’s nine nominees are goalkeeper Dearbhla Gower, defenders Kate Geraghty, Sarah Ní Loingsigh, Aoife Ní Cheallaigh, Nicola Ward, midfielder and captain Ailbhe Davoren and forwards Louise Ward, Olivia Divilly and Róisín Leonard.

Armagh are represented by goalkeeper Anna Carr, defenders Clodagh McCambridge, Grace Ferguson, Cait Towe and Lauren McConville, midfielder Caroline O’Hanlon and forwards Aoife McCoy and Blaithín Mackin.
