Celtic tracker on international stars as Odin Holm lives up to bubbling hype and Yang leaves Klinsmann craving more

Daizen Maeda is ready to take the 'fight' to Germany as he and Kyogo gear up for a tough Japan test.

The Japanese duo are two of a host of Celtic stars currently away for internationals and with no competitive games until November, a string of friendlies will have to do them for now. The Parkhead pair take on Germany on Saturday evening although the feeling in the camp is one of uncertainty as questions grow over Hajime Moriyasu's future and the overall state of the national team since their exit from the World Cup.

But Maeda says it's a good Japan team and they are ready to take the battle to Germany. He said: "It's said that we're in bad shape, but we have members, and we're a complete team. I want to fight with that feeling."

Yang and Oh meanwhile are away with South Korea, albeit not far away as they've travelled just a few hundred miles south for a pair of South Korea friendlies. Yang was given his debut off the bench against Wales in Cardiff and will hope for more minutes this Tuesday against Saudi Arabia at St James' Park in Newcastle.

And boss Jurgen Klinsmann was well impressed with Yang and how he has developed since joining the Hoops. He said: "Yang has been playing well for Celtic and he came on here and was good too. I think it will be very important to see how much he grows and develops both at club and at country level.

"A lot of young players have joined and these players need to prove themselves with their performances. It is exciting to see the national team grow and develop with the addition of new players like Yang."
