Celtic told to beware Borussia Dortmund's 'unstoppable' English wonderkid as starlet earns Champions League hero status

Germany star Emre Can has warned Celtic to beware of Borussia Dortmund's new "unstoppable" English starlet Jamie Gittens in their next Champions League match.

Celtic will travel to Germany for their next game in the new-look competition to face last season's runners-up. Dortmund started their campaign with a flattering 3-0 win in Belgium against Club Brugge when they scored their three goals in the last 14 minutes of the game.

England Under 21s starlet Gittens was the hero when he came off the bench to score a double and fellow sub Serhou Guirassy added a third. Former Reading, Chelsea and Manchester City kid Gittens has been tipped to be the new Jude Bellingham after being the latest English kid to break through at Dortmund. And Can has been impressed with the 20-year-old ahead of the showdown with the Hoops at the start of next month at the Westfalenstadion.

He said: "Jamie was excellent when he came off the bench and saved us by scoring a couple of goals. He's very good on the ball and has improved a lot. The fact that our squad is so strong that he was only a substitute to start says a lot about us. The competition for places is pushing us.

"He is incredible with one-on-one situations and is a very strong finisher. Now that he has a taste for scoring goals, he will be almost unstoppable if he keeps this up. We didn't put in a top performance if we are being honest, but we will take the win."

And modest Gittens admitted he enjoyed the evening after being named Man of the Match despite only playing for 22 minutes. He said: "It was a good night for me. I enjoyed it when I came on and hopefully this award is one of many I collect this season."
