Celtic squad revealed as four stars on injury list but Carter-Vickers fighting for Flag Day return
Brendan Rodgers will reappear with a bang on the Celtic scene as the Irishman looks to seal his sensational return with a first league win.
And first up for the Treble winners comes Ross County as Rodgers looks to emulate the success Ange Postecoglou found in the past two seasons in Glasgow. Pre-season clashes have allowed fans glimpses in to the five new signings who have checked in at Parkhead with Odin Thiago Holm being followed by Aussie winger Marco Tilio. Rodgers moved to then bolster from the Far East with Yang and Kwon sealing deals, while defender Maik Nawrocki will provide cover.
But crucially, with the exception of Portuguese star Jota who upped sticks for Saudi Arabia, the defending champions have kept hold of the top stars such as Cameron Carter-Vickers, Reo Hatate and Kyogo, who all played big roles in the domestic clean sweep that came before. There won't, however, be a place for Yuki Kobayashi or Alistair Johnston who are injured, while fans will have to wait see Tilio and returning Mikey Johnston who are also out, but Carter-Vickers is fighting to be included after a friendly appearance against Athletic Bilbao. Rodgers' first starting eleven of his second era will be one for the history books as he looks to get off to the perfect start.
