Celtic spending spree will push Rangers 'Dad's Army' squad out of the top two - hotline

Celtic's summer recruitment drive has Hoops fans predicting a Premiership canter and the lack of new faces at Rangers is creating Hotline anxiety.

One caller is tipping the Light Blues to finish outside the top two with many believing the Parkhead side have stolen a march on their Old Firm rivals. Stephen Johnstone, Ardentinny , said: "Rangers have more chance of selling Alfredo Morelos and the rest of their players down the Barras than the open market. In my mind they are lame ducks due to their lack of progress in the transfer window and if I were a gambling man I would put money on them to finish outside the top two."

Jake Curley, Edinburgh , said: "It seems that the rest of Scottish football needn’t bother turning up for the new season as Celtic have sewn up the title already. Pride comes before a fall and the pomposity over Ange Postecoglou is insufferable."

William Hutchison, Aberdeen , said: "Hotline caller Gary Stevenson claimed Celtic only sign players on loan and free transfers must have forgotten about the millions spent on Cameron Carter Vickers, Jota, Alexandro Bernabi and Daizen Maeda, altogether we have spent £18million. His main question should be about what players Rangers are bringing in and how much they are willing to spend?"
