Celtic slap down Stewart Robertson over derby tickets as Rangers are told 'WE decide your allocation'

Celtic have hit back at Stewart Robertson and insisted THEY will decide on the Rangers ticket allocation at Parkhead.

Hoops chiefs are unhappy with the Rangers managing director after he announced around 800 away fans will be allowed in to the two remaining Old Firm clashes.

Celtic have yet to confirm if that will be the case for the final derby clash of the season regardless of the plans for their trip across the city in April.

Robertson appeared to be speaking on behalf of both clubs in an interview with Sky Sports earlier this week.

The Ibrox MD said: “There will be away fans for the two games remaining.”

But Celtic insists that is not the case and they have yet to decide on the number of Rangers supporters getting in to Parkhead – if any.

A Hoops statement said: “Further to recent media reports regarding ticket allocations for away fans at Celtic Park, to clarify, Celtic determines the allocation for visiting teams at Celtic Park and will confirm the position for future matches at the appropriate time.”

Record Sport understands Celtic want a return to the traditional ticketing allocations – with rivals fans getting up to 8000 fans into away grounds.

But Robertson admitted it’s not going to happen at Ibrox any time soon.

He said: “It will be the allocation we've had for the last couple of years. Going into next year, and the succeeding years after that, as far as I can see it will still be at that level.

"I don't think that's underselling the game, I can see why some might think that.

"From my perspective, a lot of the excitement is what happens on the pitch between Rangers and Celtic.

"I'm comfortable with where we are in terms of the away fans allocation.”
