Celtic: Premier League clubs now 'definitely looking' at Parkhead hero

Celtic manager Ange Postecoglou is wanted by Premier League clubs, according to Sky Sports journalist Anthony Joseph.

The Australian is on a rolling 12-month contract and with the Hoops performing so well under his guidance, his future has been in doubt.

When Postecoglou was appointed in June 2021, he was generally unknown to many in European football.

But some 15 months later, he’s already guided Celtic to the Scottish Premiership and League Cup and also ended their long wait for Champions League football.

Not only that, Postecoglou is starting to make the Parkhead club competitive in Europe’s elite competition again, with his side making a decent start to their group stage campaign.

And his achievements haven’t gone unnoticed, with Joseph suggesting that Premier League clubs are now keeping a close eye on his situation.

He told GIVEMESPORT: “A lot of English Premier League clubs have a system where there’s a director of football and or a sporting director and the head coach, whether that kind of position would suit him, I’m not sure.

“So, it’s something that clubs might see or maybe you’d want too much autonomy, maybe he’d want too much authority as a head coach.

“Time will tell, but I think clubs in England are definitely looking at him and it’s no surprise to see his name around in the bookies markets for the next manager of these jobs.”

According to The Sunday Times, Postecoglou was a target to replace Graham Potter at Brighton and Hove Albion following his switch to Chelsea.

But the Seagulls vacancy is one less job to worry about for the Hoops after they appointed Roberto De Zerbi last month.
