Celtic player tipped for 'big future' after rejecting Premier League moves to stay at Parkhead

East Kilbride's Daniel Kelly is a talent Celtic are very excited about, according to Hoops 'B' team coach Tommy McIntyre.

The teenager signed his first professional deal at Parkhead last month amid interest from the English Premier League.

Arsenal were one team said to be interested in the EK player but the chance to progress at Celtic has proven enough to keep Kelly in Scotland.

A midfielder, the 16-year-old has penned a three-year deal after showing his promise, stepping up to Tommy McIntyre's Hoops 'B' team in the Lowland League on occasion.

He is part of the youth squads heading to America this week for the Generation adidas Cup, and McIntyre reckons the starlet is good enough to grasp his Glasgow chance.

Speaking of the youngster, said: "They (Kelly and Josh Dede) have got a big future. I am a believer that if you are good enough, you play. Daniel's already been with us and come on in some games.

"Young players have come in through necessity. They haven't let anybody down and it gives us more options for next year.

"It's up to them to see that pathway."
