Celtic news latest as Neil Lennon snubs Rangers in 'combined' XI and Ange sees EPL move written off

Neil Lennon doesn't think a single Rangers player would get into the Celtic team - or he's not putting them into his combined XI, at least.

It's a massive week for the Parkhead club as the women's team face Rangers in a decisive SWPL clash on Friday night before the men's sides meet at Hampden on Sunday in the Viaplay Cup final. It's the latter that has Lennon's attention and the former Hoops boss has been in amongst it in the media in the build-up.

Lennon was on talkSPORT with Ally McCoist where he told Chris Sutton he's only Chelsea's SECOND worst ever player in a quipped response to Michael Beale. And when asked by Boylesports to name his combined XI, he admitted he likes some of the Rangers players - but probably wouldn't put any in his combined XI.

He said: "There's no question that I like some of the current Rangers players. Ryan Kent is a handful and Alfredo Morelos is the same. Allan McGregor is a top goalkeeper and has been for a long time and Tavernier's goal contributions record is exemplary so there are players that I do admire - whether I'd pick them in a combined XI is another thing!"

Ange Postecoglou will be hoping to have his third trophy as Celtic boss in the bag by the close of play on Sunday with the first silverware of the season on the line. The Greek-Aussie boss has had plenty of plaudits for the turnaround he's overseen at Parkhead and he's recently been linked with various jobs in the Premier League, including Leeds and Everton.
