Celtic named dream testimonial for ex Scotland star as he reveals 2 factors that would make day perfect

Barry Bannan would love a testimonial date with Celtic.

The Sheffield Wednesday midfielder - considered a modern day legend at the club - has just entered his TENTH season with the Owls. He's enjoyed his whole career to date south of the border at the likes of Aston Villa and Crystal Palace with loan spells in-between before making the move to Hillsborough nearly a decade ago. He's also a Scotland international and picked up 27 caps. Now 34, he skippers Wednesday in the English Championship and has played every single minute of their league campaign so far.

Going into season 10 means Bannan now qualifies for a club testimonial as by long-standing football tradition and growing up as a Celtic fan, the 34-year-old knows it is no secret to anybody who he'd like to come up against - but if that is not possible then facing one of his old clubs like Aston Villa would rank next highest on the list. He has also named just TWO key things that would make the day special for him regardless.

He told The Star: “I think everybody knows! If not them, then maybe I'd have one of my old teams like Aston Villa or something but I'm not bothered to be honest. As long as all my home fans are here and my family, if you get a good turnout and your family are here then it would be great.”
