Celtic move for £5m star is 'one to watch' at Parkhead

Celtic might have to pay up to £4m if they want to sign PSG star Edouard Michut, according to Sky Sports reporter Anthony Joseph.

The reigning Scottish champions are being linked with a move for the teenager following his lack of opportunities in the first team in France.

According to Sky Sports, Celtic are targeting a deal for the 19-year-old, who’s made eight appearances since breaking into the first-team under Mauricio Pochettino.

But the report claims that rumours in France believe that Michut has become frustrated with his lack of game-time after making just one start last term and that came in the cup against lower league Vannes.

Ange Postecoglou has stated that Celtic are still hoping to sign ‘two or three‘ more players before the window closes, having already welcomed five players on board, although three of those were previously on loan.

But while Sky Sports believe the Hoops are getting ready to launch a £2.5m bid for Michut, Joseph reckons he could cost Celtic up to £5m to secure his services.

He told GIVEMESPORT: “Michut has played six games in Ligue 1 and is very much seen as a hot prospect at PSG, but there’s been a falling out with the hierarchy and the new manager.

“Well, not a falling out, but he’s not seen in the first-team plans, so he’s looking to move and because of that he could go for quite cheap.

“One source had told us that Celtic were looking at coming with a £2m offer, but I believe it’s probably going to take £4m-£5m for him to move, so I think that’s still one to watch.”

Having won the title in his first campaign, Postecoglou is clearly hungry for more, while he’s also looking to build a squad capable of being competitive in the Champions League following Celtic’s recent woes in Europe.
