Celtic: Major Parkhead call has 'ripped the league to shreds'

Celtic manager Ange Postecoglou deserves plenty of credit for the way he has turned the club’s fortunes around this season, according to Sky Sports reporter Michael Bridge.

The Hoops finished 25 points adrift of Rangers in the Scottish Premiership last term, but they are now on the brink of reclaiming the league title.

Celtic started their campaign slowly, losing their first three away matches in the top-flight.

However, they have since gone on a staggering 27-game unbeaten run in the league, and have only drawn four times during this period. This has helped them open up a six-point gap at the top of the table, with just five games remaining.

Meanwhile, they also won the Scottish League Cup in December, although they were denied the chance of collecting a domestic treble this past weekend as they were beaten 2-1 by Rangers after extra time in the Scottish FA Cup semi-finals.

Bridge has hailed Postecoglou for the impact he has had at Parkhead. He has specifically praised Postecoglou’s recruitment in the transfer market, most notably bringing in four Japanese players – Kyogo Furuhashi, Reo Hatate, Yosuke Ideguchi and Daizen Maeda – since he arrived at the club.

Bridge told GIVEMESPORT: “You’ve got to give credit to Celtic and their manager Ange Postecoglou. He’s just come in and steamrollered it. If you look at Rangers in the table, they’re not actually doing that bad, they’ve not lost a lot. They’ve just drawn too many games, and they’ve lost to Celtic a couple of times.
