Celtic handed Lazio rematch as favourable Champions League draw avoids real big hitters
Celtic have landed as the 2023/24 Champions League draw confirmed their fate.
The Premiership champions have landed in Group E as they look for improvement under Brendan Rodgers in Europe's elite competition, having failed to pick up a win n any of their six Group F games last season under Ange Postecoglou. And they will be heading to the Netherlands after pulling Eredivisie side Feyenoord out of pot 1 in a favourable draw in comparison to powerhouse clubs like holders Man City
Another major test was thrown up from pot 2 as Atletico Madrid were pulled out to send them back to the Spanish capital a year on from facing Real Madrid and Serie A side Lazio made up the rest of the four-man pull alongside Celtic. Neil Lennon's Celtic achieved a famous win in Rome in the Europa League back in 2019. Ties will take place between September and December, with the first matchday taking place next month on the 19th or 20th.
