Celtic fans sent Ross County ticket warning after staff 'threatened' over hardline home access stance

Raging Ross County have hit out at Celtic fans who have "threatened" staff after being denied access to the home end for the first away game of the season.

The Scottish Premiership champions start their bid to defend their crown on Sunday when they raise the title flag at Celtic Park against Jim Goodwin's revamped Aberdeen side. However some supporters already have eyes on the first away day of the campaign with Ange Postecoglou set to take his side to the Highlands on August 6 and have quickly snapped up the allocation for the away end at the Global Energy Stadium.

That has seen some Celtic fans snap up tickets for the home end as they look to see their side on the road, but County are set to get tough over fans joining The Staggies supporters in the stands. The cub are set to refund any tickets snapped up by Hoops fans after a club probe found that Parkhead fans had bought up tickets. Fans who also attempt to enter on match day will be refused entry.

A club statement said: "Ross County would like to put out a very clear message that any Celtic supporters attempting to purchase tickets for the home end will be refused. Those who try to gain entry to the home end will also be rejected.

"We are cancelling numerous tickets bought by suspected Celtic supporters for the home end and refunds have been processed. No tickets will be sold on the day.

"Only those who have a ticketing history for home matches will be sold tickets. It is unacceptable our staff have been threatened and intimidated by individuals attempting to falsely purchase tickets. This will not be tolerated."
