Celtic fans lap up Wrexham connection as staff member spotted in Hoops to prove Alan Brazil point

There's been talk of a connection between Celtic and Wrexham - with Alan Brazil's point on the matter going one step further as titles edge closer for both clubs.

The National League club are the talk of the football world right now under the ownership of Hollywood and TV heavyweights Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney. They could seal a triumphant return to the Football League this afternoon if they beat Boreham Wood at home and cameras have been rolling in to see how things unfold.

But eagle eyed Celtic fans spotted on ITV's broadcast on Friday night that when peering into the club shop, one member of staff was wearing green and white. It's been lapped up by supporters in Glasgow on social media, with one fan demanding 'give him a raise,' another calling it 'class' and one more adding it was 'superb' to see ahead of the Welsh side's potential party.

One even suggested that Celtic - who are close to becoming kings of Scotland again - should get in on the hype, asking the Premiership champions to get 'rail of Wrexham tops in the club shop.' Die-hard Hoops fan Brazil brought up the topic of an alliance between thee clubs this week on talkSPORT, with Welsh fans unveiling a Celtic banner and scarves in the away end at Rangers during a Tunnock's Caramel Wafer Challenge Cup clash in 2019.

Goalkeepers at both clubs, Ben Foster and Joe Hart, were also once England teammates and Red Dragons defender Eoghan O'Connell started his career in Glasgow. Brazil said: "I read somewhere that Wrexham have a big association with Celtic, believe it or not. I'm not just making it up, they were in Seville as well, I am telling you."
