Celtic fans CLEAR for Bayern Munich away as UEFA announce Champions League punishment sparked by pyro yob

Celtic have been fined after two UEFA charges for fan behaviour at Villa Park – but have avoided a fan ban for their upcoming clash with Bayern Munich.

The Parkhead club released a scathing statement after the travelling support against Aston Villa were seen displaying fireworks while objects were thrown onto the pitch during the 4-2 defeat. The governing body put the Premiership champions on a final warning for multiple breaches against Dortmund, but that advice wasn't heeded and the club went to down, warning supporters could be locked out for their trip to Munich.

Club insiders had feared the worst but fans won't be banned from the blockbuster Champions League trip in two weeks' time. And now it's been announced a £10,000 fine will be the extent of it for now. They've been found in breach of Art.16(2)(c) which relates to lighting of fireworks and art 16(2)(b) which relates top throwing of objects.
