Celtic fans anti-coronation chant reaches Australia as live TV report on 'untameable' Hampden showing

The viral video of Celtic fans chanting 'you can shove your coronation up your a***' has reached national TV in Australia.

King Charles is due to be crowned this Saturday and the Scottish Cup derby with Rangers at Hampden was the Parkhead side's final game before the historic event. After the death of Queen Elizabeth II, fans were heard chanting 'If you hate the Royal Family clap your hands' during a minute's applause during Celtic's away game to St Mirren with many expressing anti-Monarchy sentiments in the stands and on social media.

And during the Hampden showpiece, where Jota's header sent Celtic to the final, a similar chant was heard but this time the lyrics were changed to reflect the upcoming Coronation. Sky News Australia's 'The Bolt Report' did a segment on it with the presenter pointing to the Aussie angle that Celtic are coached by Ange Postecoglou. He showed a clip of the chant at Hampden with the anchor saying "that lot are pretty untameable," before asking whether they would have "sung so loudly for Queen Elizabeth.".

They then went to Sky News Australia reporter Danica de Giorgio outside Buckingham Palace who said: "It wouldn't have mattered whether it was King Charles or Queen Elizabeth. It comes down to much deeper roots than that...Celtic fans have notoriously been against the Monarchy."
