Celtic defender joins Motherwell on loan as he aims to "show fans what he can do"

Celtic defender Adam Montgomery says he is "excited to show fans what he can do" after completing a loan move to Motherwell.

The 21-year-old left-back has penned a deal until the end of the season and brings a wealth of experience to the table, despite his years.

He has amassed 67 senior games so far and has played 20 times for the Hoops. He has enjoyed loan spells in the Premiership with Aberdeen and St Johnstone, as well as spending time on loan at English League One side Fleetwood Town in the first half of the season.

Last term, he made 33 outings for St Johnstone - who Motherwell face in a fortnight on Premiership duty - and Montgomery is looking forward to showing the Fir Park faithful what he is all about.

He told the club website: "I’m chuffed to be here.

“I’m excited to get going and show the fans what I can do.

"It’s been really good meeting all the boys so far and feel it’s a great environment to be playing football.”

Motherwell boss Stuart Kettlewell said: "With the low numbers we currently have available, it’s important we bring the right players to the club who we think can make an impact.

“Adam is still a very young footballer who is in the early part of his career, however, to have amassed 67 first-team games at his age, shows he already has experience and good knowledge of the game.

“I’m delighted we have been able to bring him to the club and look forward to working with him.”

The Steelmen were rocked earlier today by the news midfielder Callum Slattery has been ruled out for the season and this won't be the last fresh face in the door at Fir Park.

Sky Sports are reporting that Motherwell have been given permission to speak to Hearts midfielder Andy Halliday, who hasn't played for the Jambos since
