Celtic crowned Scottish Premiership champions after draw at Dundee United
Celtic have been confirmed as Scottish Premiership champions after a 1-1 draw at Dundee United. The result moves them beyond the reach of second-placed Rangers and means they have won a 10th title in 11 seasons after Rangers prevented them from securing a record 10 in a row last season.
Ange Postecoglou’s side have not been beaten in the league in 31 matches since 19 September, recovering from a shaky start that brought three defeats in their first six Premiership games under their new manager.
The title adds to December’s Scottish League Cup triumph and guarantees Celtic a place in next season’s Champions League group stage. Top spot has been secured with one game remaining and marks a considerable turnaround under Postecoglou after Rangers finished 25 points ahead of Celtic last season.
