Celtic and Rangers among world elite for attendances as fan turnout tops Real Madrid and Liverpool

Celtic and Rangers boast some of the best attendances in world football with the Glasgow giants ranking among the top 30 turnouts per game across the globe.

The Scottish Premiership sides are topping some of Europe's heavyweight clubs with supporters turning out in force during the 2022/23 season to this point. Ange Postecoglou has built a firm bond with the Parkhead support having lifted the title last term, and that appears to have continued into the new campaign with the stands packed at Celtic Park for the league fixtures.

Across the city, Gio van Bronckhorst has plenty of fans to turn to as he looks to bring the Premiership title across the Glasgow divide this term. The club navigated the Champions League playoff games with a roaring Ibrox crowd behind them to return to the group stage, but the league fixtures have average almost a full house for every home game based on the figures this term.

Celtic 's 58,745 average for league matches so far in 2022/23 puts them 13th in the list ahead of massive clubs like Real Madrid (56,698), Manchester City (53,325) and Liverpool (53,205). Rangers have grabbed their place in the top 30 coming in at 27th, with an average Ibrox league crowd of 49,125 - more than likes of PSG (45,667), Chelsea (39,941) and Juventus (37,634).

The Edinburgh sides also grab a spot on the 200 club long list. Hearts sit 166th with an average attendance of 18,470 and while Hibs 185th with 17,762.
