Celtic and Hearts hit with UEFA charges as governing body take dim view
Celtic are facing a fresh charge from UEFA over the use of pyrotechnics from their supporters in the 3-0 defeat to Real Madrid. Meanwhile Hearts have also been cited due to fireworks and objects being thrown from the stands.
The governing body have fined the Premiership champions a total of £3,700 over the use of fireworks during their first fixture in European football for five seasons. Celtic have been slapped with a multitude of fines in recent years with the vast majority coming from the use of pyro within stadia.
Hearts have been fined £2,400 and the Scottish duo are among a host of sides across the continent who have been cited - including Manchester City, Arsenal and Shamrock Rovers. UEFA have maintained a hardline stance over any incidents which occur during games under their stewardship.
