Celebrate the York Ebor Festival with your Daily Record

The Ebor Festival kicks off on August 23, with plenty of exhilarating action taking place over the flats in one of the highlights of the season. And your Daily Record is ready - bringing you packed 12 page racing pullouts and great reader offers every day of the festival.

The flat racing season is nearly drawing to a close, but not before the crowds at York Racecourse demonstrate their passion for the sport in its biggest Northern meeting. The meet will begin on Wednesday, August 23 and run until Saturday, August 27 with some of the sport’s biggest names gathering to earn their shot at some big prizes.

The opening day sees the Group 1 Juddmonte International Stakes, the week’s highest value race. This has been won by legends Frankel and Sea The Stars in the past, with 2022 Derby winner Desert Crown set to line-up this time up against Paddington and Mostahdaf. On day two, the Group 1 Yorkshire Oaks takes centre stage, with Bluestocking, Savethelastdance and Free Wind all in the running.

This race is part of the British Champions Series, with Friday seeing further competition in the form of the Lonsdale Cup Stakes and the Nunthorpe Stakes. On Saturday, the race from which the meeting takes its name, the Ebor Handicap, takes place.

This race has £300k worth of prize money on the line, with Sweet William the favourite after a win in the Summer Handicap at Goodwood earlier this month.

So don't miss the excitement! Pick up your Daily Record every day of the York Ebor Festival from Wednesday August 23 - Saturday August 26 and you'll find packed 12 page pullouts PLUS great reader offers every day.
