Ceiran Loney on Brighton transfer radar as English Premier League interest in Partick Thistle starlet ramps up

Brighton are the latest English Premier League side to run the rule over Partick Thistle youngster Ceiran Loney.

The 16-year-old is training with the Seagulls this week. The South Coast club have been watching him for several months and made their move on the back of rivals Everton. Loney had a training stint on Merseyside earlier this month. He trained with Everton’s under-age sides and impressed. Loney also scored twice and got an assist in a bounce game with the Toffees. Brighton will now look at the teenager at closer quarters.

Thistle are still hopeful that Loney will remain and sign professional forms at Firhill. The Jags have already shown there is a pathway to the first-team for their academy graduates. The likes of Aidan Fitzpatrick have come through the ranks and previously won a move to Norwich City, although he has since returned to the first-team fold at Firhill.
