CCTV released after elderly victims targeted in 'terrifying' robberies

Officers have released CCTV images of a man they wish to speak to following two 'terrifying' robberies on elderly victims. Police in Bury have been investigating the incidents in Prestwich and Whitefield since earlier this year.

Greater Manchester Police says the robberies took place between January 24 and February 9. No arrests have been made so far.

But the force says new developments have now come to light. GMP has today (May 12) released CCTV images along with a fresh appeal for information.

PC Molyneux, of GMP's Bury Neighbourhood Crime Team, said: “Thankfully no-one was seriously injured in these robberies, but this was clearly a terrifying ordeal to endure. No arrests have been made as yet and extensive work has been carried out in regard to CCTV retrieval

“If you have any information or recognise the man in this footage, please get in touch immediately, we believe he may be able to assist with our enquiries." Anyone with information about the incidents is urged to contact GMP, by calling 0161 856 8222 or emailing 14118@gmp.police.uk, or call the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
