Police have today (March 7) released a CCTV clip of a man they believe has 'vital information' about the incident. In the clip, the topless man can be seen walking and making gestures towards another person.

Anyone who recognises him, or who has any other information about the attack, is being urged to contact officers. In a statement, a Greater Manchester Police spokesperson said: "At around 1am on Saturday 18 February 2023, officers responded to reports of an assault outside of Notion Bar on Vernon Street in Stockport.

"The victim, who it is believed tried to intervene, suffered a blow to the head and facial injuries after falling to the floor, that were thankfully not deemed life threatening.
