CCTV appeal as student, 19, left scarred for life after Wetherspoons attack

Police have issued a CCTV appeal after a student was attacked in a Wetherspoons pub in Manchester city centre.

The attack happened at The Paramount on Oxford Street in November last year. The 19-year-old victim suffered serious facial injuries.

They have been left scarred for life after the incident, police said. Officers have been carrying out an investigation since the attack and have now released a CCTV picture of a man they want to speak to about it.

Anyone who recognises him is being urged to get in touch. A post on the GMP city centre Facebook page said: "#APPEAL Do you recognise this male? We want to speak to him after a student, 19, was assaulted at Paramount Bar on Oxford Street in November. The victim suffered serious facial injuries and is physically scarred for life.

"We've been following up a number of lines of enquiry since the incident and are now in a position to appeal to the public with information. The image isn't the best but we're hoping someone may be able to recognise him and get in touch.

"Anyone with information is asked to call 0161 856 4409 or report it online at https://crowd.in/rQN5V4. Alternatively, contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111." The Manchester Evening News has approached Wetherspoons for a comment.
