Casemiro's response to Man United Amad equaliser speaks volumes after Liverpool draw

Manchester United came away with a point after drawing 2-2 against Liverpool in the Premier League.

Ruben Amorim's side ended a six-year curse of not scoring at Anfield in the top flight since 2018. However, the Reds may have thought they deserved more as Harry Maguire blazed the ball over the bar in the dying moments.

Lisandro Martinez scored the opening goal shortly after the break but the hosts provided a quick response through Cody Gakpo. Mohamed Salah then netted from the penalty spot and most expected Liverpool to claim the three points to extend their lead at the summit.

But that was short lived when Alejandro Garnacho found Amad in Liverpool's area. The youngster proved crucial for Amorim as he put the ball past Alisson to earn a point.

After sliding across the turf and celebrating with his teammates, Amad spent a brief moment with supporters while he kissed United's crest. The likes of Rasmus Hojlund and Noussair Mazraoui entered conversation while returning to their own half and Casemiro went across to Amad to give his own well done.

He also ensured the youngster remained focussed for the last minutes of the game. With his hood up to protect him from the rain, the former Real Madrid star put his hand on Amad's shoulder to turn him back around after he strayed from the sidelines.

The moment shows the midfielder can still offer his own experience to the club despite being on the bench.
