Gerrard admits contract talks surrounding Carney Chukwuemeka's future have broken down again.
The highly-rated Villa teenager was fully expected to sign a new long-term deal on his 18th birthday back in October but, after being in no rush to do so, wanted assurances over his playing time in the Premier League.
Chukwuemeka, 18, has made eight appearances from off the bench for Gerrard since the current boss replaced Dean Smith back in November.
In January, Gerrard issued a blunt response to Chukwuemeka's future and said: "We want him to sign and to extend and reward him for what we've seen so far.
