Carlos Tevez set for Antonio Conte reunion with Tottenham to welcome ex-Man Utd star

Argentina international striker Carlos Tevez is expected to pay Tottenham Hotspur a visit, reuniting with his former manager Antonio Conte as his future continues to hang in the balance.

Tevez, who played in England for West Ham United, Manchester United and Manchester City, has been without a club since leaving Boca Juniors in the summer of 2021. The multiple Champions League finalist had earlier suggested he had no desire to return to the game, but there has since been plenty of noise over what might be one last hurrah.

Major League Soccer outfit DC United are among those to have been loudly linked with the Argentine, with the team from the capital having previously signed Tevez's former teammate Wayne Rooney. He has been in Europe more recently, though, and is reportedly paying his former boss Conte a visit in north London.

It was Conte who signed Tevez for Juventus, bringing the striker to Turin in 2013 after four years with Manchester City. Juve won the league in their only season together, with Tevez scoring 19 times in Serie A along the way.

And according to Corriere Dello Sport (via The Sun ), Tevez is set to join Conte and his coaching staff at Spurs' training ground ahead of the Premier League game against Brighton & Hove Albion. The former Corinthians frontman was also in the stands as Juve took on Inter Milan with both teams flying high in Italy this term.

Tevez's reported trip to London isn't expected to stand in the way of an MLS move. DC had reportedly been working on a financial agreement with the veteran, while there was also interest from elsewhere in the states, but for now he's closing in on a full year without any competitive football.
