Carl Froch makes promise to Jake Paul 'if he beats Tommy Fury' after Anderson Silva offer

Carl Froch has responded to Jake Paul after the American YouTube star called him out ahead of taking on Tommy Fury this weekend in Saudi Arabia.

The pair have been engaged in a war of words, with the former super-middleweight world champion branding Paul as a 'clown' previously. Froch has become embroiled with the American, with the eyes of the boxing world turning towards the fight between Paul and Fury.

They meet in Saudi Arabia on Sunday, with Paul having the chance to earn a cruiserweight ranking with the WBC should he win the fight. The development may have inspired Paul, with the 25-year-old calling out Froch ahead of his fight.

Paul tweeted: "Carl Froch mad because I made more in one year than he made his whole career." He added. “You want the payday. I get it.

“So let’s do this, fight Anderson Silva on my next card and if you get lucky and beat him, then we can step in the ring and you make your career payday. Let me know.”

However, as a former world champion, Froch was having none of Paul's jibes, readily taking the opportunity to respond and remind fans of his Wembley fight against George Groves in 2014. Froch said in a video: "So, Jake Paul has called me out on his social media. Apparently he wants to fight me.

"Just in case you didn't know, my last fight was at Wembley Stadium in front of 80,000 fans. I won't be fighting the mixed martial arts legend Anderson Silva on your undercard. I've got too much respect for him. And your punch when you boxed him, did that even land? Very dubious.

"You've got a job to do against Tommy Fury. If by some miracle you manage to beat Tommy Fury, then I'll listen to you. I'll have a little chat
