Cardiff suffer first defeat of the season in 13-try thriller at the Arms Park

Cardiff slipped to their first defeat of the season as they were put to the sword by defending URC champions Glasgow Warriors in a 13-try thriller at the Arms Park.

Matt Sherratt's side played their part in a hugely entertaining clash in the Welsh capital but were ultimately made to pay for missing too many first up tackles. Glasgow opened the scoring when scrum-half Jamie Dobie ran in unopposed from 35 metres out without a Cardiff defender putting a hand on him.

Tom Jordan added the extras put Cardiff hit straight back with openside flanker Dan Thomas putting huge pressure on Dobie's clearance from a few metres out. In the end Dobie messed up the clearance completely allowing Thomas to pounce and score with Callum Sheedy adding the extras

Cardiff gained momentum through a powerful scrum pushing Glasgow backwards at a rate of knots. With the Glasgow defence on the back foot Cardiff went wide before a well-timed pass from Ben Thomas put Cameron Winnett over for a try.

But Cardiff's defence yet again let them down as Kyle Rowe broke through weak tackles from Aled Davies and Rey Lee-Lo to claim Glasgow's second try. Glasgow retook the lead when a loose pass from Sheedy got intercepted by his opposite number Jordan to ran in from 40 metres.

Cardiff got exposed badly once again as Scotland centre Sione Tuipulotu charged through Sheedy to stroll over for their bonus point try. And the Scottish club took a 33-12 lead into the interval as Jordan's sumptuous offload found Huw Jones for yet another score.

Sherratt made wholesale changes at the interval with a new set of half-backs in Ellis Bevan and Tinus de Beer while Evan Lloyd and Ed Byrne came into the front-row. It gave the hosts some fresh impetus and after a period of
