Cardiff come from behind to win dramatic festive derby against Dragons
Cardiff came from 15-0 down to win a thrilling festive derby 24-22 against the Dragons at Rodney Parade and stretch their decade-long winning run over the Newport side in the league to 20 matches.
Despite being reeled back in by Cardiff, it had looked like the Dragons were set to end the losing run when Wales scrum-half Rhodri Williams forced his way over with 10 minutes to go.
However, Wales hooker Evan Lloyd's score four minutes from time ensured it was high-flying Cardiff who took the bragging rights - and a bonus point - on Boxing Day.
Matt Sherratt's side - who have now moved up to third in the URC table - had Teddy Williams, Josh Adams and Gabriel Hamer-Webb to thank for their other tries.
As for the URC's basement club - who had built an early lead through scores from Wales duo Aaron Wainwright and Rio Dyer - it was looking like the Dragons would find some festive cheer thanks to the efforts of the two O'Briens in their ranks. Attack coach Matt stepped up to take charge of the side while head coach Filo Tiatia was in New Zealand for family reasons, while fly-half and captain Angus was superlative on his 100th appearance for the club.

Much of the opening exchanges were spent in the visitors' half, with the only surprise being that it took 14 minutes to break the deadlock.
However, in the space of five minutes at the end of the first quarter, the Dragons more than made their early supremacy count.
