Cardiff City return to Championship action this afternoon, with arguably the biggest game of the season lying in wait for Omer Riza and his men.

Despite salvaging a point away at Preston North End in midweek, the Bluebirds remain in the relegation zone, with Derby County just above them in 21st by virtue of a superior goal difference.

Slipping into League One remains an alarmingly real possibility ahead of what is a quintessential relegation six-pointer at home to Stoke City, who are only two points away in 20th.

A win would be enough to take the Bluebirds out of the bottom three, but defeat to the Potters could plunge them into deeper trouble, with just four more games to go.

It's largely a similar state of affairs for Stoke, who will be boosted by a reasonable run of form that has seen them slip to just one defeat in their last five league outings.
